- What I should know about the Site while using it? [View Top]
WITS functions as a Central System for Controlling and Managing the Devices. It is also a one point communication system which is accessible through the Web for Customers to track and get online update of their Vehicles and their Account.

Things to know while using the Reports:
a. Selecting Particular Vehicle/Vehicles :
While selecting a carrier on the Report, if you write any alphabet inside the textbox and click button “Go”, you will get the list of carriers containing the entered alphabet.
If you can not see any Carrier/Vehicle in the list after any Search or wish to list all the vehicles available, clear the textbox in front of the
“Carrier:” then click the button “Go”. This will list all the available
vehicles.
c. Ignore Stops:
This is the time in minutes which will not be considered or ignored as a stop.
e.g. If you entered “2” in the textbox, the software will assume that the
stoppage time of the vehicle greater than 2 minutes should not be considered as a
stop.
d. Bold Stops:
This is the time in minutes which will be considered as a stop.
e.g. If you entered “2” in the textbox, the software will assume that the
stoppage time of the vehicle greater than 2 minutes should be considered as a
stop.
e. Max Speed:
Records will be displayed for which Speed is more than the Speed entered by the user.
f. For Detailed Activity Report and Speed Report, only the days which are having some records will be listed.g. In Reports under Location the sign "----" indicates: no place mark is defined for the location.
1. Whenever you come on any List Page/Report, Click on button “Show All”. This will show all the records. In case, if you had make some Search previously, and now coming back to the page after moving to other pages, you may get list of the search results only. This is the Software’s default behavior to provide thorough Search to the user.
2. URLs should not be changed, manipulated by the user.
3. Date entries should not be manipulated manually. Calendar controls are provided wherever necessary; the user is supposed to use that only.
4. On clicking link “Live Tracking” on the Dashboard:
a) If you cannot see anything, Click the Refresh button, or try again later.
(To Refresh a Page: - Press F5 button OR click Refresh icon on toolbar of the
browser)
b) If you see map saying "We don’t have
imagery at this zoom level", do Zooming Out till you see some map.
c) Click on Balloon Markers or click on
Marker name in sidebar to see the Details.
5. For online Support of the Team, Your PC should already have Skype Software installed and you should have Valid Skype ID.
- How do I login into the Website? [View Top]
To use the System you have to first Log into the System with valid Username and Password.
At Login Page, one has to
enter Username and Password. One can see a checkbox below the password field.
If the checkbox is checked then the entered Username will be remembered for the
next login. After successful login, user will be taken to the Dashboard.
- What all I can see on the DASHBOARD - the Initial Screen? [View Top]
WITS Dashboard:
The Dashboard is the first screen seen by the user after successful login. The Dashboard provides a single venue that gives users access to all the information they need to do their jobs.
Following screen shows the Dashboard:
Below Greetings Section, user can see Quick Links section. It holds links to different reports and other modules which user has Permissions on.
The News section shows the News
related to the website. The News/Information updated by the Site Administrator
can be viewed by the Users. This option allows Administrator to announce New
Offerings, Site Status etc.
The Identification Information and Reports shows the vehicle information in the last/current session.

For e.g. if you click on link "Live Tracking", it will show your Vehicle's current position/moves on the Google Maps. |
Desktop | Shows link Live Tracking and 1, 2, 7, 15, 30 Days on click of which a dialog box will appear asking to Open or Save a file. When you will open the file, it will open in Google Earth Software showing your Vehicle's current or last selected number of days moves. If you haven't saved the file, then while closing the Software, you will need to save the file in order to maintain Vehicle's activities. |
The Reports portion contains
different Icons, showing information about the Vehicle. If the Vehicle is
currently not on move, no icon will blink; all the icons will be gray in color:

If this icon is showing red colored cross (without Globe), this means there is No Link between the Vehicle and the Control System. If the icon is showing red colored cross with Globe, this means the Vehicle is InActive from the Date shown in the header. If you hold mouse pointer on this icon, it will show its current status. |
Over Speed |
If mouse pointer is hold on the Speedometer icon, it will show Speed Status of the Vehicle in last 24 Hrs. whether it is Normal Speed or Over Speed. |

If this icon is blinking in Red-Green color, it shows that the GPS Data is not available currently for the Device. |

SOS |
If this icon is blinking in
Red-Green color, it indicates the vehicle is in some emergency. |

- What Are Carriers? [View Top]
Carriers are Vehicles or Human being whom you want to track. These are supposed to carry a Tracking Device.
- How to see Current Location of the Vehicle? OR How do I track my Vehicle(s)? [View Top]
There are two options for
Live tracking with which Users can get current position of their Vehicle(s):
1. Live tracking on Google Earth
2. Live Tracking on our website hosted by Google Maps
1. Live tracking on Google Earth:
On click of the link "Live Tracking" below the "Desktop" section on the Dashboard, a dialog box will appear asking to Open or Save a file. When you will open the file, it will open in Google Earth Software showing your Vehicle's current or last selected number of days moves. If you haven't saved the file, then while closing the Software, you will need to save the file in order to maintain Vehicle's activities.
2. Live Tracking on our
website hosted by Google Maps:
On click of the link "Live Tracking"
below the "Web" section on the Dashboard, Current Location of
your vehicle on the Map can be seen. A red balloon will be seen on the map,
which indicates current position of your vehicle. Click the balloon to get
details of the vehicle. Details will show the information about:
DeviceID: Device ID.
Channel: Information is getting through SMS/GPRS.
DateTime: Date and Time.
Latitude: Latitude of the Carrier.
Longitude: Longitude of the Carrier.
Speed: Speed of the Carrier.
Alarm: Type of Alarm generated, if any.
Each Session will have different Balloon Color, this enables user to track the
particular path taken by the Vehicle in particular Session.
The side bar contains logs for the Vehicle and place marks, click of which will
show its position on the Map.
- Can I see the Vehicle Logs on Google Earth? [View Top]
Yes, the link “Google Earth” on the Dashboard in the
Quick Links section will help you to get the files for the desired Vehicle,
for the desired number of Sessions or desired number of days. You will just
need to select a Carrier and number of Sessions/Days for the Transactions, and
the System will provide you the requested file which can be opened in
Google Earth.
This report can also be accessed through the link Reports in Quick Links
section. After clicking Reports you will have to select “Google Earth”
from the List of Reports, under the heading, “Select a report”.
- How to get information about the Carriers (Vehicles)? [View Top]
Click on the link named “Carriers”.
This will list out Carriers available in the Organization. Clicking on View in
the listed Carriers will show you the detailed information about the Carrier.
- How to get information about Carriers currently on move? [View Top]
The link named “Active Sessions” will let you see the list of carriers which are currently on move.
- Which Reports are available for Users? [View Top]
- Reports available for Users are Start-Stop Report, Begin-End Day Report, Fleet Summary Report, Detailed Activity Report, Speed Report, Fleet Status Report, Google Earth Report and Miscellaneous Report.
- What I can see on Start-Stop Report? [View Top]
1. Start-Stop:
Used to verify work tickets. Logs Drive Time, Mileage and Arrival time. Displays actual time on job. Excellent for resolving customer disputes.
The report shows the details
about selected Vehicle’s journey for selected dates. Details like Start,
Stop and Stoppage Time, distance traveled, Max. Speed achieved between each
Start and Stop, Location will be displayed.

Vehicle’s Start-Stop Report? [View Top]
On Dashboard, in the Quick
Link Section you can see a link named “Reports” or a button named "Reports" in the header at upper right corner. Click on this link. Now
on right side of the page you will have to select the report “Start-Stop”
from the list of reports. Select the Date-Range, Carrier for which the report
is to be shown and enter number of minutes to be considered as a Stop for the
Vehicle.
- What I can see on Begin-End Day Report? [View Top]
2.Begin-End Day:
The report shows the details about selected Vehicle’s journey for selected dates. Details like the time at which Vehicle Started and the time at which the vehicle Stopped, their Location, Distance Traveled and Max Speed.
How to get Vehicle’s Begin-End Day Report? [View Top]
On Dashboard, in the Quick Link Section you can see a link named “Reports” or a button named "Reports" in the header at upper right corner. Click on this link. Now on right side of the page you will have to select the report “Begin-End Day” from the list of reports. Select the Date-Range and Carrier for which the report is to be shown.
- What I can see on Fleet Summary Report? [View Top]
3.Fleet Summary:
Aids in detecting lower performing Drivers and Technicians. Also helps managers track trends and patterns in work flow.
This report shows total
Distance Traveled, total Moving Time, total Stopped Time, total Hours, total
Number of Stops, Average Stop Length, Average Stops Per Day, Max Speed Reached
by the Vehicle for the given date range.
How to get Fleet Summary Report? [View Top]
On Dashboard, in the Quick
Link Section you can see a link named “Reports” or a button named "Reports" in the header at upper right corner. Click on this link. Now
on right side of the page you will have to select the report “Fleet Summary”
from the list of reports. Select the Date-Range and Carrier for which the
report is to be shown.
- What I can see on Detailed Activity Report? [View Top]
4.Detailed Activity:
Report that provide a thorough examination of vehicle activity throughout the day.
This report shows details of Start Time, Location, Speed and Distance Traveled for each date in the selected date range. If no record found for any date in the selected date range, nothing will be displayed for the date. The dates having some records will be listed only.

5.Speed:
Managers can quickly and easily check for speeding problems within the Fleet to increase safety.
This report shows details of Start Time, Location and Speed for each date. The records will be listed for which Speed exceeds Max Speed entered by the user. Only the dates having some records will be listed.

6. Fleet Status:
Enables dispatchers to quickly and easily see the Location of
every vehicle.
The report shows current
Status of the Vehicle, whether it is moving or stopped with Name of the Device it is carrying, Last
Updated Time, it’s Location and Speed.

On Dashboard, in the Quick
Links Section you can see a link named “Reports” or a button named "Reports" in the header at upper right corner. Click on this link. Now
on right side of the page you will have to select the report “Fleet Status”
from the list of reports. Select the Carrier for which the
report is to be shown.
- What I can see on Google Earth Report? [View Top]
7. Google Earth:
Enables to get a file to track the vehicles on the Google Earth Software with user defined Place marks and Targets.
The file will be generated
for the selected Carrier, for selected number of Days/Sessions.
How to get Google Earth file? [View Top]
The link “Google Earth” on the Dashboard in the Quick Links section or through link named “Reports” or a button named "Reports" in the header at upper right corner will help you to get the Google Earth files for the desired Vehicle, for the desired number of Sessions or desired number of days. You will just need to select a Carrier and number of Sessions/Days for the Transactions, and the System will provide you the requested Google Earth file which can be opened in Google Earth Software.
- What I can see on Miscellaneous Report? [View Top]
8. Miscellaneous:
Detail information about the vehicles like Alerts, Speed, GPS Availability, Engine Status, Battery Status, Voltage Statuses throughout the Sessions and Mileage achieved within each Session.
The report contains two
reports:
Transaction History and Session Mileage. Transaction History gives details of
Transactions like Alerts, Speed, GPS Availability, Engine Status, Battery Status, Voltage Statuses throughout the Sessions and Session Mileage
gives Session-wise details of Mileage and related Transactions details.
How to reach
Miscellaneous Reports? [View Top]
On Dashboard, in the Quick
Link Section you can see a link named “Reports” or a button named "Reports" in the header at upper right corner. Click on this link.
Now on right side of the page you will have to select the report “Miscellaneous”
from the list of reports. Here you can see the Transaction History Report
and the Session Mileage Report.
The Transaction History Report can also be accessed through the link named “Transaction
History” in the Quick Link section of the Dashboard.
- How to get information about Previous Vehicle movements (History Records of the Vehicle)? [View Top]
The link named “Transaction History” will let you see the list of Transactions (records) related to a Vehicle. These are sorted in Latest First manner. This report can also be accessed through the link "Reports" in Quick Links section. After clicking Reports you will have to select “Miscellaneous” from the List of Reports, under the heading, “Select a report”. Then click on link “Transaction History”. Note: You can click on Show Map to view these locations on Google Map. If you wish to see a particular location on other Maps like www.mapquest.com or local.live.com, the link is provided for achieving the same on each record.
- How to get information about particular Task completed/in progress by the Vehicle (Carrier)? [View Top]
Click on the link named “Sessions” in Quick Links section.
This will list out sessions related to the Carriers. Tracking details of the
Device in each Session can be seen here.
Note: This option only available if the Session is created.
- I don’t want to see detail Transactions, can I simply see when my Vehicle moved out for a task and returned? [View Top]
This can be easily achieved by viewing the Sessions module which can be accessed through Quick Links section on Dashboard. This Module allows you to view the Last sessions created by the Vehicle, information includes Start date Time, End Date Time.
- Can I see my Previous Logins for the Website? [View Top]
Yes, the link named “User Activities” under Quick Links Section on the Dashboard will let you see your previous Login-Logout Activities.
Also, under Greetings section you will see the Duration between your Last Login and the Current Login.
- How to get the report of Speeding Violations of the Vehicles? [View Top]
The link named “Speeding”
under Quick Links Section on the Dashboard will let you see the list of Speeding violations done by the Carriers
(Vehicles).
How to get all the vehicles listed in the list of Reports? [View Top]
Clear the textbox in front of the “Carrier:” which is on right side of the report page, then click button “Go”. This will list all the vehicles available.
- Can I see my Vehicle's Starts and Stops and the distance traveled between each Start-Stop? [View Top]
Yes, On Dashboard, in the Quick Link Section you can see a link named “Reports”. Click on this link. Now on right side of the page you will have to select the report “Start-Stop” from the list of reports. Select the Date-Range, Carrier for which the report is to be shown and enter number of minutes to be considered as a Stop for the Vehicle.
- How can I see when my Vehicle has started moving for the assigned task and when it has completed the task in a day? [View Top]

Current Status of his Vehicle. On Dashboard, in the Quick Link Section
you can see a link named “Reports”. Click on this link. Now on right
side of the page you will have to select the report “Fleet Status” from
the list of reports.
- I want to see the vehicle's activity on Google Earth Software, how can I? [View Top]
The link “Google Earth” on
the Dashboard in the Quick Links section will help you to get the files (the files which enables information of the vehicle to be displayed on Google Earth Software) for the desired Vehicle, for the desired number of Sessions or desired
number of days. You will just need to select a Carrier and number of
Sessions/Days for the Transactions, and the System will provide you the
requested file which can be opened in Google Earth.

Yes, the information listed
on the Maps is editable under our Website. Please click on link "My Account". On this page you will see a link "Map
Preferences", click on this link. A window will
popup. On this page select only the information you want
to get displayed on the map.
- I see Flags of all the other users on the map, which slows the speed of Map display. Can I view my Targets only? [View Top]
Yes, you can view only the
Targets/Place marks defined by you on the map. For this, click on link "My Account". On this page you will see a link "Map
Preferences", click on this link. A window will
popup. On this page select the checkbox in front of
"Show My" and click button "Apply". Now onwards, whenever
you will see maps, you will see only the targets defined by you.
Note: This checkbox will be enabled (NOT gray in color) only when you
have uploaded your Place marks file and you have added targets to this file.
- On each refresh of the Map while Live Tracking, the map automatically zooms out, Can I set my own default Zoom Level? [View Top]
Yes, you can set zoom level
of the map. For this, click on link "My Account". On this page you will see a link "Map
Preferences", click on this link. A window will
popup. On this
page select a number from drop down list in front of "Zoom" and click
button "Apply". This will set zoom level of Maps. Now whenever you
will see the maps, the zoom level will be the same as defined by you.
Note: Higher Zoom Levels needs accurate/availability of imagery from
Google Image Server, Please ensure the imagery before setting Higher Zoom
Levels.
- How to upload Place marks file? [View Top]
For this, click on link Placemarks, which you can get on Header of any page. A window will popup on click of the link. Select your file by clicking the "Browse" button.
If you wish to have the place marks only for you, select the checkbox in front of "Do not share my placemarks with others."
If you wish to add these place marks as Targets for you, select the checkbox in front of "Also add in Target Table."
Now click the button "Upload". this will upload your place mark’s file to the server.
- What Are Targets? [View Top]
Targets represent places on
the map such as delivery stops, refueling stations or your company
headquarters.

User will just need to click the link named “Targets”. Access to Add, Edit, Search, Print, and Export operations are provided to the users, depending on their privileges.

Every Task in this System is
treated as a single session for the Carrier. So whenever a Carrier performs a
Task, it will be creating/completing one session.
Note: A session has to be initiated and closed manually, either by the
Monitor or by the Web User.

On header portion of any page (except the Advance Search, Export and Print pages) you can see link "My Account". Clicking on this link, will take you to a page where you can view your Account's Information and edit your personal information and can edit the website access password.
