How can overcome GSM Registration failures as GSM service provider needs quad band modems which works on 850/1900 MHz Band?
Device fails to get registered on GSM network, device restarts due to consecutive GSM registration failures. Service provider needs quad band modems which works on 850/1900 MHz Band.
If you want to change the mode of GSM Modem in GPS Tracker then use following
steps:
1. Connect GPS Tracker to the USB Port of the PC. (Check whether the USB to
Serial converter drivers are installed on the PC and SIM card is properly inserted
into GPS Tracker ).
2. Open Hyperterminal, select the proper COM port and Click on 'Restore Defaults'
to select default settings.
3. Restart the GPS tracker using on/off switch present on the tracker.
4. Press 'M' to enter in menu of the GPS Tracker.
5. After this press '7' to direct connect to the GSM Modem inside the tracker.
6. Type following AT command to change the mode of the GSM Modem inside the
tracker.
AT+cband=GSM850_PCS_MODE
This command will change the band of GSM Modem to GSM850.
AT+cband=GSM1900_PCS_MODE
This command will change the band of GSM Modem to GSM850.
7. After this just monitor the status of the Orange LED on the GPS Tracker if the this
starts blinking it means device is registered in GSM Network.
